| Bio: | I am 22 and have recently graduated with an English degree from the wonderful university of Nottingham Trent. Surprisingly, it wasn't a bad degree either, in fact, a fairly good one (2:1). I liked books before, now perhaps I tend to enjoy gourging myself on them. I am a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan, and this informs my fairly typical liking of Star Trek (are you cringing yet), Star Wars (oh that's fine you think, most red-blooded men love those big pointy shiney things) and Lord of the Rings. However I'd like to think my palette is a little broader than that - I am big fans of both Philip K Dick and Ursula Le Guin, whose collective imaginations are something that I will always try to aspire to and reflect upon. I'm a keen musician/writer and am in a band. Music is a ridiculously big part of my life (as you may have expected). Being a writer of songs and a guitar player it's only natural that my tastes tend to drift towards singer-songwriters. My favourite of these would be Neil Finn, formerly of the moderately sucessful Crowded House and even earlier, Split Enz. The man has the ability to put poetry into music in a way that is both subtle and affirming. But then there are the others like Jeff Buckley and Jason Mraz who amaze and inspire me in their own special ways. I am of course not a music snob, at all. Not one bit. Unless you proclaim your love for various manufactured acts. Then, just then, I may shout. Sorry. Always like talking to new peeps, providing you're not *actually* one of those axe-wielding types. That'd be just a bit too much for my young ticker to take now, wouldn't it? Oh and people who do not like sarcasm - run, NOW! Other than that, happy reading. | ||
